As it is

The community is united in anger, anxiety, and uncertainty about the broken system, inequality, and imbalance in daily life activities as we tend to identify with the thoughts and emotions that the thinking mind likes to create, from second to second, non-stop. These are distractions from being aware of the present moment, and living life as it is.

If only we can create a habit to be mindfully aware of the mind. Take a deep breath and ask ourselves quietly — what is happening in the mind right now? We may yet understand that there are often thoughts associated with suffering — cravings, greed, aversion, anger, or delusions.

No one likes to suffer but the mind is the central tool that never stops working on bringing up these thoughts. How can one learn to quiet down the mind? Simply observe the mind as it is, don’t fall into its trap of identifying ourselves with those unwholesome thoughts, and don’t judge the thoughts, whether they are happy or unhappy ones, also avoid trying to stop unpleasant thoughts or extend the pleasant experiences. Instead, find an inspiring source of truth to understand the causes that gave birth to these thoughts. Explore how these thoughts make you feel deep inside. Remember, these feelings, thoughts, and emotions are universal and are not unique only to yourself as everyone else has experienced the same sufferings, whatever it is. Don’t try to identify and make it personal, because truly it is a natural happening.

Once this is done, a sense of peace will arise, wisdom will appear in your consciousness and what is left to do next is — to build up momentum to practice mindfulness in daily speech, thinking process, and activities.
